Drewan Baird. Oudtshoorn. 12 October 2013. 07h10. Abrie reports, on behalf of the acting General Secretary (sic)…

Next Friday morning, 18 October 2013, at 09:30am, the Honourable Mr. Justice Watt-Pringle A.J.; will be handing down his ruling in the abovementioned matter at the South Gauteng High Court in downtown Johannesburg.

This judgement will bring to an end the dark night which was hanging over our party for a time too long.

The court proceeding was an unavoidable circuit-breaker of our political program and our preparations towards the elections, but as soon as it is disposed of next week, COPE will rise to present itself as the only reliable, accountable and incorruptible alternative in the 2014 Provincial and National Elections.

We trust that you, our leaders, will continue to guide members and supporters of the Congress of the People and its structures so that we all wait for the handing down of this important ruling with the restraint and discipline that we have up to now demonstrated.

The acting head of communication will convey additional information in terms of the program prior to and after next Friday’s judgment in due course and thereafter on a regular basis.

Drewan Baird. Oudtshoorn. 11 October 2013. 07h00. J. J. Abrie, Cope Acting Head of Communications, issued this statement around 21hoo last night:

Dear Comrades

The Congress National Committee will issue a statement on Friday morning 11 October 2013 to announce the final date and associated arrangements for the handing down of judgment in the abovementioned matter.

As we do so, we trust that you will continue to guide other members of the Congress of the People and its structures so that we all wait for the handing down of this important ruling with the restraint and discipline that we have up to now demonstrated.

Many thanks

  1. They are dead!. The EFF will take its place in parliament after the next elections. Why do they not just join the Daceivers?

  2. Who is COPE again…I remember a leader being elected under a tree some years ago?

The Western Cape interim chair, Vuyani Gouws, and their Southern Cape interim chair, Allan Kok are what’s the problem with COPE- these interim leaders are just there to ensure they have a job, using the name of COPE.

They do not hold their councilors accountable- let’s take the Oudtshoorn rep they have…I believe his surname is Maxim- other then tabling proposals that are not even supported and kissing the Eden mayors ass he has done 0 for his parties supporters.

In Bitou they have a public rep who is a joke, and makes an even worse DJ…Sponge Mop/Bob I believe he calls himself.

COPE are a shamand any voter who takes democracy seriously will never vote for this pathetic party again
