Oudtshoorn. 4 March 2013. 11h30. Another day, another scheme to raid Oudtshoorn’s ratepayers.

This particular scheme has some grandeur to it, if only by its brazen impertinence:

It was colluded that Thandekile Mnyimba, found incapable by the High Court to be municipal manager of Oudtshoorn, would file a claim for wrongful dismissal against Oudtshoorn. Adv Shaheed Patel, close friend an confidant of Mnyimba, would have advised a settlement and…

This very real scheme was thwarted when Badih Chaaban, a man not to be trusted according to DA leaders, wanted nothing of it and the idea died a sudden death.

Such are the continuous dangers facing ratepayers.
