Oudtshoorn. 1 March 2013. 06h45. Here they are: 35 hopefuls to get the best seat on the Gravy Express:
Sharon le Keur
Ye gods and faeries – the arrogance of some of these applicants… For some of the applicants to expect to get the nod given their management records!
But O!O has good news for the people of Oudtshoorn. A 36th candidate will eventually be added to the short list to be compiled from this long list. And there is a very good chance, O!O thinks, that this 36th candidate will be appointed:
The Reverend Noël Martin Pietersen – “Noelie” vir sy vrinne, soos Diane de Jager. En “Dooms” vir ons gewone ou’s.
But he didn’t even apply, you say. He can’t make it onto the short list, he’s not even on the long list!
Neither was the Karoo Hoogland MM, Ernest Saayman, sacked by Northen Cape High Court order last Friday when he was appointed on 28 November 2011 – by a DA/Cope governed council!
He was just “slipped in through the back door”.
More about this looming DA scandal later.
By the by, Oudtshoorn’s immediate past MM, Thandekile Mnyimba, is being forced upon the good people of the Blue Crane Municipality. Blue Crane is in the Eastern Cape and a failed province already, so Thandekile should fit right in, as he did to the satisfaction of the bucolic masses in Jansenville before Oudtshoorn.
The ANC, bent on accommodating the chap that the High Court found unqualified for the job, is petitioning all who would listen to have the appontment requirements adjusted to accommodate Thandekile.
Ye gods and faeries.
Mnyimba could not manage celibacy among castrati.
