Oudtshoorn. 4 October 2012.

15h30. There is but a single item – in committee – on the agenda for tomorrow’s special council meeting at 15h00: Council Resolution 60.100/7.12 rescinding the decision to appeal the June 1 verdict declaring the appointment of MM Thandekile Mnyimba ab initio null and void; sacking Mnyimba; and holding mayor Gordon April personally liable for the cost of appealing the June 1 verdict.

08h31. After days of muttering in the accursed halls of Verwoerd Sq – that ‘n Paarliet óns nie sal sê nie – OO determined yesterday afternoon that April’s nest of ne’erdowells will hold a special council meeting on Friday.

OO had a deal with an informant not to publish before 08h30 this morning, so there…

They can hardly not meet, can the clowns, as critical decisions on developements and other business are long overdue.

April is terrified at the prospect of being ousted. He probably feels that a “special” council meeting will afford him some protection. Especially as such a meeting needs only a 24 hour notice – little time to maneuver against someone.

So… Let’s wait and see!
