Oudtshoorn. 19 July 2012. 19h30. Eden Mayor Wessie van der Westhuizen reported earlier this afternoon: “Visiting the flood disaster areas in the whole of the Eden district today.  Can you believe it, just after I was dropped off at Oudtshoorn airport, the helocopter crashed at Witfontein in George. Waiting for feedback on the pilot.  And you say that God is not good… all praise to Him.”

Civil Aviation authorities confirmed that a Robinson R44 helicopter crashed at Witfontein, near the Virgin Active. Only the pilot was aboard at the time and he is unharmed.

The cause of the crash is not immediately known.
