What say you about your conniving caucus, Helen?
July 20 ”Zero Tolerance”, but blue councillors are excused
DBC July 22 Apparently the Peter Roberts (then with the DA, then not, then whatever) disciplinary hearing is set down for Thursday only. There are rumours of some trouble in paradise. Yaaaaawn. Remember, Peter, come to Jesus deals are most always go to hell deals. Roberts should resign and fight his ward 7. He’ll almost certainly lose and the DA will regain total control of that elusive 13th vote. But then again, August 4 looms extraordinarily. Right now, however, Roberts is useless to the DA and useless to the ANC Coalition. Someone’s yanking His Ethical’s chain. The thing is, once the boss has married his secretary, the new wife never again trusts a secretary… nor trusts her husband. Getit? The middle of the road is where the articulated truck gets ya’ ass.
DBC July 22 Councillor Pierre Nel’s sequestration hearing is set down for August 14. The DA is fixing to take over the council before then in order to withdraw the application, and, of course, to withdraw the other matters set down for August 4. Come on, Pierre! The solution is obvious! Come to Jesus deals don’t ever come off, Pierre.

Bitou Deputy Mayor: “DA Municipality funds COPE’s high court challenge”
July 20 What? The squeaky clean Dee-Aye!?
DBC July 18 I was, yesterday, looking to find a paper resembling a Constitutional Court settlement agreement – WITHOUT A CASE NUMBER (VERY IMPORTANT) – to quickly settle Speaker Stoffels’s personal legal debt. But then I remembered that such a settlement would be stealing from ratepayers. I forget sometimes that I am no longer a DA supporter. But it is difficult to shed the baggage.
DBC July 18 The DA. They lie. They try to settle a caucus member’s personal legal debt. They disagree even about whether or not Oudtshoorn has a budget. But they want to govern Oudtshoorn. They could not take over the council on May 31 last year – WITH 5 (FIVE – FIVE!) ANC councillors supporting their effort. But they want to govern Oudtshoorn. It’s embarrassing.
